1. Introduction

Nico ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Nico Chrome extension and the website at trynico.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our extension and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials.

Conversation summaries. When you use Nico on supported AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), we extract and store summaries of your conversations to provide persistent memory. We do not store full conversation transcripts — only LLM-curated summaries.

Usage data. We collect anonymized usage metrics such as feature usage counts, enhancement requests, and error logs to improve the service.

Payment information. If you subscribe to Nico Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your credit card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve the Nico extension and services; generate and retrieve memory context to enhance your AI conversations; process transactions and manage your subscription; send important service updates (we do not send marketing emails without your consent); and detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring that only you can access your own data. Conversation summaries are stored with vector embeddings for retrieval purposes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security measures, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: OpenAI API for generating conversation summaries and memory retrieval; Supabase for authentication and data storage; and Stripe for payment processing. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete individual conversation memories, entire folders, or your complete account at any time. When you delete data, it is permanently removed from our servers. Stale deleted records are cleaned automatically on a daily basis.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through the extension interface. You may also request a copy of your data or ask us to stop processing it by contacting us at the email below.

8. Children's Privacy

Nico is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through the extension.
